- Subject: [SM-Discuss] sorcery 1.11 (almost)
- Date: Mon, 11 Oct 2004 11:55:34 -0700
We've finally finished clearing out all the 1.11 feature requests and
bugs (woohoo!). So at this point its just a matter of testing sorcery
and bringing up/fixing any last issues on this release. The next major
release will be 1.12, and hopefully be the release we use in smgl 1.0. In
other words, this has got to carry us through for the next 5 months or so.
So heres the plan, later today I'll upload a new 1.11.0-rc release. File
bugs against test sorcery when you find them. Once we go a sufficient
amount of time without hitting any major problems, we'll call it stable
1.11.0. In the meantime we're going to start doing 1.12 work on devel.
Sorcery team: There is a change in process I want to try out, so read
carefully. After I release the next test 1.11, Im declaring devel 1.12,
in other words we cant pull new 1.12 code into the 1.11 stream (which
lives in test/stable).
So when theres a bug found in test/1.11, fix it in the test branch THEN
integ it up into devel if the bug also exists there (which right now
it probably will). NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, that will (potentially)
pull new code into test which we dont want in there. Let me know if that
doesnt make sense.
