The little green thing has to do with updates.

I get the same and it happens with input text boxes too.

I updated xorg and had problems with keyboard drivers.

I know, what's with the little green thing, I thought it could be a white house or a white tree in a globe of green solution.

Duane.

Oh, and I also have a little green up arrow on the right side of the
menu bar. What's up with that? It doesn't seem to do anything.

I did an update today (test grimoire) and suddenly the left and right
arrow keys stopped working in the URL bar of firefox! They work fine in
dialogs. The only two things that I updated that might possibly have
something to do with it are gtk+2 and libtools (firefox has been PR1 for
a couple of days), but I downgraded both to no effect. I recompiled
firefox to no effect. I recompiled with CVS and it failed. Does anyone
have any idea what's causing this keyboard problem? It's rather
annoying. I haven't found any other programs with this problem yet.

BTW, the latest firefox head refuses to ./configure --with-xft --with-
freetype2.You can only have one or the other.
