I'm leaving him off CC as per request...

He's not project lead anymore. That doesn't count for anything, I
suppose. Assuming, hypothetically, if I did everything he's accusing
him of doing, such as giving benefit of the doubt to volunteer seniority
and making a decision for himself without being lambasted into it by a
disgruntled, albiet, contributing individual, I might some sense of
pride in having done it. Call it sick, call it twisted, but you know
what, it's not a totally flat organization, and, at the same time, it's
got a mix of meritocracy and seniority. Somebody's got to balance these
aspects, and I'm sure now some people are probably going to be pretty
glad it wasn't Hamish.

Right now I'm betting a lot of people wish some other attitudes changed
in certain other individual(s).

Hamish made an official record of it right here on the mailing lists.
Reorganization followed. It's not like he's Kenneth Lay; Hamish just
didn't like his style and Schabell had other things to do and probably
got a little bit tired of Hamish in the process as well. Others didn't
like his style completely either, but you win some, you lose some.
Would I have done everything Eric did? I can say definitely not, but
there wasn't anything worthy of this level of continued barrage.

Oh, He did leave for honest reasons, nobody doubts that.

Right now I don't think anybody's doubting his right to leave. I
presume many are wishing he would actually use that right.

I would have done this for Hamish, but the consensus is against me.
Since it appears he's OK with Schabell still being a developer, this is
the last thing he wants out of us. Perhaps it will end with that,
perhaps not.

It isn't advertised. It's history. Perhaps if Hamish asked for us to
change the email address to hgg AT sourcemage.org they would go for it.
hgg <hgg AT sourcemage.org> would never get back to him and it wouldn't be
rewriting history, more like modernizing the parlance.

My own contribution to history...
