Howdy all,

You can best just start in the linux/Documentation dir looking for the
docs on acpi, they list all the supported versions of what you are
trying to do here above.

There are two ways, sw and hardware suspend, depending on the type and
call you make to certain files in /proc things 'might' happen. ;-)

It is all there in the docs...
