- Subject: [SM-Discuss] daemon spell uids should be < 100
- Date: Fri, 4 Jun 2004 15:40:25 -0700
I was just looking at the simpleinit man page and its shutdown process
kills off all the uid => 100 processes before starting shutdown (in late
stages it will kill all processes off as well). Since the daemons
provide their own shutdown procedure, I propose it makes sense to assign
uids < 100 to our init.d-using spells so that they can be properly shut
down.
Is there an easy way to do that? Am I off-base?
I filed a bug and post it here since it covers more than one section.
