Yes, I noticed this new feature too.

But while we are on about the kernel, how do we go about adding new architectures and optimised flags. I'm thinking about the VIA EPIA mini-ITX motherboards. I just got one and you can compile using i386 or i686, but in the latest gcc 3.3.2 there are specific settings for these boards.

That means that you cannot have added (or removed) any patches or version
numbers from the configuration (i.e. it has to be the same as the last
compile,
otherwise you need to clean your tree).
