I have flash drive storage device

sometimes the system detects it correctly and everything works, but
frequently
I get lots of error messages and I lose my mouse and have to reboot.

When it works I get the following data:

- ---

hub.c: USB hub found
hub.c: 2 ports detected
hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-2.1, assigned address 4
usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x67b/0x2317) is not claimed by any active
driver.
hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-2.2, assigned address 5
usb.c: USB device 5 (vend/prod 0x67b/0x2316) is not claimed by any active
driver.

when it fails I gewt something like:

usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
hub.c: get_hub_status failed
usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:07.2-2 address 6

It seems that if I use the device twice in succession in linux, I get a
problem, but if I use it in Windows 98 in between times, it works! Could
this be related to the security device?

Does anyone have any ideas?
