Not exactly.
I have a proactive approach to test grimoire. I think finding minor bugs are
good and having users report bugs that need fixing rather than us developers
makes the bug more critical and gets a faster fix.
But introducing major bugs is bad.
So i would like to see all users running latest gcc (3.3.1) so we can find
out
what spells have sources that break with "-pedantic -ansi" and fix them.
It does require a high level of commitment from gurus and developers.
My intention would be for stable to be 100% usable and quite uptodate for
users and for test to be a bugfixing playground with the devel p4/cvs
repository a holding yard for major version updates to get checked by
developers(things like gcc3.3.X -> gcc3.4.XXX, mysql 3.X->4.X, kde 3.1.X ->
3.2.X, qt 3.1.X ->3.2.X , gnome2.2.X->2.3.X).
I think it will take some time to get used to the new system, but i am happy
at the way it is working so far and see great potential for progress in the
future.
