I just downloaded Macromedia's Flash Player 6 for Linux to support the plugin requirements of a website I am interested in viewing, 'scifi.com/taken'. After installing the plugin mozilla 1.1 does not find it. I note in the installation instructions Player6 requires some device fonts? to be installed as below:

Device fonts require outline fonts to be installed. This is a change from Flash Player 5 for Linux. Some fonts to install:
ttfonts
urw-fonts
ttfonts-ja for Japanese device fonts
ttfonts-ko for Korean device fonts
ttfonts-zh_TW for traditional Chinese device fonts
ttfonts-zh_CN for simplified Chinese device fonts

The above is from the Flash6 readme file. The installer says:
NOTE: ttfonts and urw-fonts are required fonts.

1) Are these fonts in the grimoire?
2) If not where might I get them?
3) Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
JohnC

The "About Plugins" shows only the null plugin

Before trying the fonts thing, try making a symlink in the plugins directory libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 -> /opt/gcc2/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so*

or libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 -> /opt/gcc2/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.3-2-2.10.0.so*

depending on which file actually exists in /opt/gcc2

Thanks Geoff,
That fixed the problem. An "ldd on libflashplayer.so" gave me a:
libstc++-libc6.2-2.so.3=> not found. I suppose that is the problem. Is this a reference to an old gcc-2.95 library which ain't on my system in the standard libray directories?
