Hmm.

I havent actually /done/ anything to get the error but follow the install flow.

When i go down the list and reach Architecture Optimize, I choose it, and select Pentium III. I then select Speedy & Strip. When I hit ok, I get two text error messages, mainly saying it can't write to /mnt/root/mnt/root blah blah. Then a dialog pops up saying "Settings successfully saved in " with no location.

I don't know if it saves them successfully or not (i'm betting not) - But i get the error consistently everytime.

I am setting root as disc0/part1 if that makes a difference. And this is on a system where i have nuked the drive, reformatted as ext3, and mounted as /

My first guess would be that that portion of the installer uses a variable in the path, which it must be possible to corrupt. Maybe just hardcode it?

I have no idea how you're seeing this - I did numerous tests on this part of
the installer when I was updating it, and if you look at
/mnt/root/etc/sorcery/local/config, the options are being set properly -
they've been set properly in every test and full install I've done since
modifying the code for the 1001 ISO.

Ok, Just noticed a bug in the beta 2 iso install routine.

The installer is trying to save Architecture optimizations to:
/mnt/root/mnt/root/etc/sorcery/local/config. This doesnt exist. It
should be /mnt/root/etc/sorcery/local/config. thus the kernels being
built and such do not use the new optimization settings.

Hopefully someone can fix this for beta 3.
