I've been using Source Mage on my desktop system (AMD XP 1600+) for a
few months now and I've been loving it. I recently got a Pentium 233
laptop, and installed Slackware 8.1 on it (because I'm impatient and
didn't want to wait for things to compile). However, I missed the ease
of casting software Source Mage has, so I downloaded the sorcery tarball
and installed it on the laptop. After creating a few files in /var,
everything seems to work fine, except sorcery doesn't know what packages
I already have installed on the Slackware system. Does anyone have a
script, or would be willing to help me write a script to convert
Slackware's list of packages (I think it's in /var/log/packages) to a
sorcery /var/state/sorcery/packages file? (I'm not very experienced with
bash, and only just recently found the grep command)

sorry for the overly long explaination!

Scott Weber

P.S. I've been reading the mailing lists for a while now and I'd like to
say that everyone is doing a terrific job! Keep up the good work!
