Looking at the list, I think only one version of gcc should be installed. I
don't think we need rpmunpack to be installed or is that used for something?
We probably don't need unzip to be installed, not initially, gzip and bzip2
yes, but not unzip.
I'm not sure about traceroute.
Get rid of netkit-telnet. If we do need a method for remotely logging in,
use openssh.

Those are my suggestions.

The only thing I added after install is openssh. I would to discuss
reducing
this list to only those items needed to boot the machine, get it on the
net
and those items needed by sorcery. Now, of course, for other machines
things
like pcmcia-cs and rpppoe are needed - but surely not this whole list?
I am
talking a stripped down, essentials install only.
