Thank you Spencer! I'll try just for the fun of it. It's not going to work most likely, because I use perl as an Apache module, not through CGI :-(. Thanks anyway!

I use perl in the manner you describe, and I imagine the setup is similar.
I have the lines:
AddHandler cgi-script pl
Options Indexes ExecCGI
I think that is all I had to add to get perl to execute globally.

Hi All,
I have one problem with httpd2 and php, maybe somebody
heard of a solution. For a certain directory, say,
"Alias /dir/ /this/dir/", I have "DirectoryIndex
index.php" and "Options Indexes" in my httpd.conf. If I
access this as "http://host/dir/index.php", index.php
gets interpreted by PHP engine and I see a generated
html. If use just "http://host/dir/", I get _the
source_ of index.php, which is not funny or useful at
all. I tried setting DirectoryIndex directive globally,
and experimenting with "AddType ... .php" without
success. Radically, I could probably achieve correct
handling if I set php as a default mime type for
documents, but somehow I don't like this and didn't
even try.
Will be grateful for any ideas!
