None of the ISOs I've been building (which means anything more recent
than 0.9.6.3) have updated lilo.conf for the user. The user is expected
to manage their lilo.conf themselves. The same goes for their grub
menu.lst. We only provide example lilo.conf and grub menu.lst files, and
then tell the user to be sure that they properly edit those files. If
you don't take care of your config files, that's your problem ;-). Also,
if you want only non-symlinked kernel image references in your lilo.conf
file, then there's really no reason for you to have the symlink there in
the first place, so you can safely say 'n' when it asks if you want it.

I don't see what you're saying here. You do understand that the commit
you are responding to has the very purpose of offering to create the
symlink automatically for the user, yes? Therefore the users would not
be creating the symlinks manually...
