It's sort of unavoidable to have duplicate scripts if you use a
non-standard runlevel layout, even if it's mostly just symlinks here. If
it would be required to have no duplicates, I would have to fork init.d
and several others installing essential scripts locally, which isn't
that nice.
Also, it failed in a completely broken manner, just giving the telinit
help, which isn't very helpful ;)
