For the moment it is a standalone script, but I can without trouble convert
it
to fit in the installer. Take your time to polish smgl.install, I still have
to work a bit on it, but when it's done let me know so I can add the
functions.

Yes, a long name is ok. I will write the other end of the script for init
(looking into the file and modprobing on the fly) - I guess it will be a
spell providing these functionalities.
