Good Name and Good opening statement - one little  suggestion would be to strike the workds "is being developed to provide a forum"  and replace with just "is a forum...."     - -- I suggest this for brevity and clalrity  and also because this welcoming statement  will serve long after the intitial 'development' stage.  Even now - it is what it is - a forum. 
Seed Keepers will make a great name.

The Seed Keepers list is being developed to provide a forum for individuals interested in and practicing techniques of keeping non-gmo seeds.  All are welcome to join and exchange ideas, skills and harvested seeds.  There are no limitations besides civility and constructive participation. This list is not affiliated with any organization and does not tolerate inflammatory behavior.  Welcome and please introduce yourself!

Could someone submit a first draft for a welcome/mission statement to use for the list
to be posted on the list homepage? This is all there is there now:
