If you can grow the other tiny Lepanthes, you can grow calimae. Mine sits
in the fog stream of my fogging fan so every time the fan comes on, it gets
drenched in fog.

Lynn,

I'd like to try L. calimae, and will try to order some from Orquivalle
(probably, they are the only seller carrying that species and going to
European exhibtions from time to time).

How do you grow yours? I already have good success with several Lepanthes
species, including tsubotae, telipogoniflora, escobariana, calodyction,
...and I wonder whether calimae would be of "similar difficulty"!

Cheers

Lisa, I have L. calimae. I thought I had given Carl a specimen, but
perhaps
I don't remember correctly. It blooms off and on, I will go out and look.

Dear Folks,

For the upcoming green book, Lepanthes of Colombia, we are searching
for pickled flowers of the following four species, all described by
Ortiz::
Lepanthes alvarezii, L. calimae, L. debedoutii, L. montis-rotundi..

Obtaining the flowers will allow Dr. Luer to illustrate the descriptions
with his excellent drawings. If you are fortunate enough to have one or
more of these little fellows in your collection, and would like to
contribute to this project, please respond off-line. We have plenty of
time to wait for flowers.

Many thanks,
--Lisa
