WELCOME.  Todd Walker welcomed all members and guests to our March meeting.  We had a brief business meeting, leaving plenty of time for Chris Richmond's presentation on Swarms and Cut-outs.

VP REPORT.  Whitney Barnes is planning to place a Topic Survey out on the web, most likely Facebook.  Please share your ideas for guest speakers and workshops you would like the club to sponsor.  Next month's topic will be Top-Bar Hives.

PRES REPORT.   Todd Walker knows of a house in need of a "Cut-Out".  Will plan a club field day on the 1st weekend in April to perform the removal.

FINANCIAL REPORT.    Amanda Blanks presented the attached report, dated March 17, 2016.  It shows the club having a Beginning Balance of $6424.83.  Monthly Income of $275.02 (State Fair Winning, Bee School Book, Dues).  Monthly expenses of $554.22 (NCSBA Extension Fund,  Hurdle Mills Fire Dept, presenter meal, Bailey's Bee for auctioned hive).  Leaving an Ending Balance of $6195.63.

FEBRUARY MINUTES APPROVED.  Motion made and passed to approve minutes (1st Mac Blanks, 2nd Tom Savage).

OLD BUSINESS.  None discussed

NEW BUSINESS.
BEE JUBILEE.  Christi Henthorn from Granville County Beekeepers Association (GCBA) introduced the Granville County Bee Jubilee.  At Granville County Expo Center in Oxford NC, on Hwy 15 of I-85.  Saturday May 14th, from 9am - 5pm.  Family fun, Bee & Pollinator education, Arts & Crafts, Guest Speakers on the hour.  FREE and open to the public.  The club proposed (1st Jamie, 2nd Mac) and approved the purchase of an inside table for a PCBA education booth.  The club also proposed  (1st Tom, 2nd Mac) and approved the purchase of an additional table for PCBA members to sell products of the hive.  The table was approved but will only be purchased if there is definite interest closer to the event.

GIRL SCOUT TROOP.  There is interest to have some members of PCBA come to the April 20th meeting where the K-1 Girl Scouts will be discussing Plants and Pollination.  Jacquie Jenkins, Daphene Gooch and Mary Florence volunteered to help.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.  There was a discussion about the continuation of the membership in the Person County Chamber of Commerce.  Discussion included reasons to stop and to continue.  As a group we have not necessarily seen much benefit, but we have not given it much effort.  A motion was made (Mac) to Cancel the membership, this motion failed.  A new motion was made (Amanda) to Revisit the decision in 3 months after further review; motion Passed.  It was decided to have Bob Brauer represent the PCBA at the Chamber.  It was recommended that Bob, find out about the current events and possibly attend a few, to give public awareness of the PCBA.

HURDLE MILLS FEED & FARM SUPPLY.  Will begin carrying basic beekeeping supplies.  Let them know what you would like them to keep on hand.

CLOVER SEEDS.  It was mentioned that King's Agriseeds sells white clover, other legumes and pollinator mixed seeds by the pound.
