Hope some organisations and individuals will argue for “gene edited” plants
to be viewed as other “transgenic” GMOs, draw attention to unexpected
effects and risks, etc. NB contra some of the pro-GMO comments, the
accepted definitions of genetic engineering do not necessarily involve
transfer of DNA from other organisms—they are saying that the gene edited
organisms don’t involve this and therefore they are not GMO."
