This result has both good and bad news impacts: the good news is that higher
demand for nitrogen by trees could mean less nitrogen polluting streams and
rivers; the bad news is that trees that can’t get enough nitrogen may not be
able to remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to help slow down
further global warming.
