*Help us address climate change*
>From initiating and advocating for local and international projects
worldwide— to being a voice at the climate negotiations, Remineralize the
Earth is actively fulfilling its mission. Remineralize the Earth (RTE) has
been represented at COP15 in Copenhagen (2009), the Rio Summit (2012) and
at the recent climate negotiations in Marrakesh by Dr. Tom Goreau. We
believe that the Commonwealth Regenerative Development to Reverse Climate
Change to be announced in June in Singapore will become a boost for
remineralization. They are preparing proposals for COP 23 in Fiji and we
hope to be invited to present a proposal with your support!
As pioneers of regenerative agriculture, RTE has been advocating for
remineralization since 1995. The world is just beginning to recognize the
importance of soil carbon for stabilizing climate. Now, more than ever, we
need a paradigm shift of innovative solutions to turn around the climate
and create a blueprint for a new Earth.
By using the mineral-rich rock dust and sea-based minerals we can enrich
the soil and revitalize forests, farms, gardens and depleted lands. To do
that, we build global coalitions around research, education and advocacy so
that remineralization can be implemented in more communities worldwide.
This is the work of restoring soils and real climate change mitigation, but
we need your help!

Here is just some of what we've been up to lately:
We advocate for an agroforestry approach that could create food security in
the tropical regions around the world. All it takes is one single
application of rock dust and needs no outside inputs thereafter! For
inspiration have a look at the video *From Garden to Forest*:

After our trip to Cuba, we are looking for funding to introduce
remineralization to Cuban farmers through teaching farmer-to-farmer
workshops. We need your support to make this happen!
Additionally, we are partnering with Heifer International in Senegal in a
few communities with the ultimate aim of scaling up to create food security
in the Sahel region. We are also looking for funding for a project in
Cameroon, which is looking towards Mt. Cameroon's volcanic ash to increase
yields, nutrition, and support the local economy.
It may seem that some of these projects are far away, but our ecosystem is
deeply interconnected. The more that we incorporate remineralization,
composting, microorganisms, biochar and other techniques into our soils,
the more we'll impact planet Earth in a positive and sustainable way.
Locally, 100 students at Paulo Freire Social Justice Charter School in
Holyoke, MA had the opportunity to do field trials, testing the aji peppers
at the Nuestras Raices farm. We are educating young people in how to take
care of the soil that grows our food and at the same time they are
contributing data to our research database.
For our next project we would like to create a Handbook K-12 for teachers
and students to do projects and contribute their results to our database.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to begin the handbook in this coming summer!

We have also been busy with launching and facilitating our new worldwide
research database, the only one that focuses exclusively on soil
remineralization. You can see the database here

.
Finally, we celebrated World Soil Day on December 5th, and are advocating
for global action projects to increase soil and biomass carbon! Soil is the
down-to-earth solution to reverse global warming and sea level rise,
putting the CO2 safely back in the ground where it came from.
