For North Carolina I would add the following:

lespedeza
sedges
cattails
duckweed
pond lilly
papyrus and horsetail if has good sun, not too wet too often and not too
much competition
clovers
marsh mallow
reeping charlie-ground ivy
turfgrasses on sloped uphill
