I want to share with you all the following event. My book, Bioshelter Market
Garden: A Permaculture Farm, has been chosen among many other individuals,
projects and organizaions to be recognized by Transition Express. I view this
award as a recognition of the work of permaculturists everywhere towards a
more sane culture. If you are in the mid Atlantic region please consider
attending. Also please help spread the word of the event. Climate Change
solutions should be on the front page everyday!

Pre-Registration is Open for Atlas Awards Ceremony Public Welcome,
Pre-Registratio an Required, for October 7 Climate Heroes Event in Washington
DC San Francisco, CA, September 27, 2012 – Atlas Awards co-founder
Priscilla Rich announced today that the National Park Service requires
pre-registration for the Atlas Awards ceremony October 7 at the Sylvan
Theatre, south of the Washington Monument. Rich said the public is welcome,
and that she and her co-founder, award-winning filmmaker, Dave Gardner, hope
to see many supporters of our American and International climate heroes, at
this inaugural event. Pre-register…by Wed October 4th, please! at the
Atlas Awards page on facebook:

Climate strategist Boyd Cohen, co-author of Climate Capitalism: Capitalism in
the Age of Climate Change, and Patrick Carolan, Executive Director of
Franciscan Action Network, will deliver keynote addresses. The Atlas
Awards are given for leadership in influencing Americans, and those globally,
towards more caring and sustainable lives that will ultimately stabilize
Earth's climate. The event will be at the Sylvan Theatre, an outdoor
amphitheatre, just south of the Washington Monument.

indicate whether you intend to remain for a no-host dinner at 6 pm, at the

12:00 Noon – Gathering 12:30 pm – Awards Ceremony, concluding with a Native
American Healing Ceremony (total length: approximately 2 hours) Sylvan
Theatre, just south of the Washington Monument, near the NW corner of 15th
St. and Independence Ave. SW, 3 blocks west of the Smithsonian Metro, at 12th
St. on the Blue/Orange Lines. In the event of rain, we will be on the
covered stage. Restrooms are on site. Public Welcome: please bring a
