If new Australian anti-drug legislation gets passed you could be charged as
for growing trafficable amounts of illicit substances if you have 10 or more
wattle trees, desmodium plants, phalaris pasture grasses, honey locust,
datura weeds or wetlands with the common rush Phragmites.... Your local CWA
ladies could get busted for their angels trumpet or ice plants in the rock
garden....

Have an overview here and some implicated species, plus link to the best
website to help you with a submission. The lawmakers need to be informed of
the sheer idiocy of the new extended illicit plant schedule. It applies to
plants containing any trace, no matter how small, of certain chemicals like
DMT (thousands of plants), alkaloids found in datura spp, mescaline (20
genera of cacti implicated) and the list goes on. All the targeted chemical
constituents are already covered by the poisons act, and most of the plants
in this broad-sweep legislation are useless for extracting them.
