Nano particles in crop sprays?

Not having any experience of keeping bees, I was not aware that wind
pollinated plants such as maize would contaminate honey. Do the bees
collect up maize pollen as food, or does it get in the honey through
being caught on the bees from the air or plant surfaces while they are
foraging for nectar? Presumably while maize is dispersing pollen it
must be in quite significant concentrations on a field scale.
Even more reason to worry about reckless GM, especially while bees are
being affected by neonicotinoids. And caution should also be taken with using nano particles which are starting to appear in crop sprays. But will big business listen?
On a personal level, I am stockpiling organic honey!
