I just finished reading an EPA PDF on radon mitigation and it was very
informative and easy to understand.  However, I do not wish to lay a concrete
floor.  I wish to lay an earthen floor, and the EPA PDF does not address this
option.  Specifically, they advise against any sand above the gravel base but
below the polyethylene sheeting for a variety of reasons.  This approach
would make tamping of the earthen floor problematic as I would want a buffer
of some sort between the gravel and the polyethylene to prevent the
polyethylene from puncturing.  Anyone with any experience with earthen floors
and how you may have addressed radon mitigation, please, chime in.

Thanks.

John Fritz, NW Arkansas.

I uploaded this video about three minutes ago.

Norris Thomlinson (Portland, Oregon) explains how his gooseberries and
currants were getting their leaves stripped. He then trained his
chickens to develop a taste for sawfly caterpillars.

Please forward to folks that might be interested in this sort of thing!

Thanks!
