Sanateers -

In response to Larry London's post, I will clarify that NCAT's flagship
sustainable
agriculture project called the ATTRA-National Sustainable Agriculture
Information
Service is currently very active and available to farmers and others who
need technical
support for organic and sustainable farming methods.

They still have an office in Fayetteville, Arkansas, but have also
expanded into
regional offices in Montana, California, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Folks can subscribe to the ATTRA-National Sustainable Agriculture
Information
Service "Weekly Harvest" e-newsletter to keep abreast of current
activities,
events, funding opportunities, etc.

ATTRA-NSAIS has new webinars and publications coming out in addition to
their on-going research and technical outreach service to farmers who have
specific questions.

Federal funding this non-profit effort is a critical reason that it
exists so it
will be extra important for continued Congressional and Senate support.

Hope that helps,

Steve Diver

They did it to ATTRA, now its no longer in Fayetteville Ark
(call it the sustainable agriculture information ARK that nearly sunk)
as it was moved to Montana during consolidation with its parent non
profit organization NCAT. When you think of the potential ATTRA had
during its heyday. They should have made Steve Diver director and
provided him with a full time staff of at least six experienced,
dedicated people. Think what we would have now.

So, Sanet during its heyday, nothing like it anywhere, a unique and
valuable resource in the best USDA tradition. Will it vanish if/when
the Republicans return to power? Not if moved to a non-government host
managed by volunteers. Not an impossible task.
