Well, I am very close to buying my first farmland with my girlfriend, should
be closing next month. I am very excited to be starting a new permaculture
farm and will probably have many questions in the coming months. We will be
located near Amery WI, and we will be focusing on duck eggs and meat, goat
milk products and meat, turkeys, pigs, and a vegetable CSA.

I'm looking for an opinion on structures right now. We need a barn for the
goats to overwinter, as well as a hoophouse for the ducks. We'll have about
150 ducks or so, so it needs to be fairly large. Does anybody have any
experience with permaculture systems incorporating goat buildings and ducks
in a greenhouse? We have some ideas of what to do, but I'm just fishing for
any and all info I can get.

We are going to be focused on rotating the animals and vegetables in a
cyclical system. Any information on duck, goat, and pig pasturing systems
would be fantastic.

Also does anyone have any advice about bypassing a septic system in the
winter? We are going to be inheriting a full septic system that we'll need
to pump, but we don't know if it will be usable in any. We are planning on
building our new home farther back on the land, so we don't want to invest
in any septic repairs or replacements in the current spot. We're going to
utilize greywater systems and a simple compost toilet method asap, but I
wonder if anybody has ever dealt with a similar situation and what they did.
Thanks for any input!
