If you're interested in projects happening closer to home, have a look at the
urban ag movement going on in Detroit. It's amazing and inspiring - and
under threat. Here are some great projects:
Greening of Detroit
Detroit Agriculture Network
Earthworks Urban Farm
Detroit Evolution
PRI-Detroit
MSU's 9-month Organic Farmer Training Program
UM Dearborn Urban Farming
and here are some articles about the challenges facing the grassroots urban
farmers as corporate America sees the possibility in turning Detroit into a
for-profit urban farm:
Detroit: Urban Laboratory and the New American Frontier
A description of the Hantz Project to turn 26 square miles of Detroit
into a for-profit farm

Food Among the Ruins
...and many more that I just don't know about yet - perhaps others can add.
Hope this gives fruitful beginnings,

I am a master's student trying to sort out her thesis. I was wondering if
anyone knows of any urban-ish agriculture projects that could use the work
of an MSc student, specifically with a modelling approach?
I know this is pretty vague, but I'm in the preliminary stages and am just
curious to know if anyone might have immediate suggestions!!!
Thanks!!!!!!
