and
for Carbon Farming in the Global Warming category.

Greetings all:

There's a movement of citizens who are now submitting ideas for how they
think the Obama Administration should change America. It's called "Ideas for
Change in America." There are two positive, transformative, and broadly
inclusive ideas that I am asking you to vote for on change.org by December
31.

In the Agriculture Policy category, the idea is "Making soil organic matter
the center of gravity of farm and public land policy." You can read and vote
for the idea by clicking on the following link:

http://www.change.org/ideas/view/making_soil_organic_matter_the_center_of_gravity_of_farm_and_public_land_policy

In the Global Warming category, the idea is Carbon Farming. You can read and
vote here:

http://www.change.org/ideas/view/carbonfarming

A registration is required in order to vote. I've done it, and it's quick
and easy.

The top 10 ideas are going to be presented to the Obama Administration on
Inauguration Day and will be supported by a national lobbying campaign run
by Change.org, MySpace, and more than a dozen leading nonprofits after the
Inauguration. The top 10 ideas will at least gain some currency and
awareness, and have a chance at becoming policy. Again, the first round of
voting ends December 31.

There are many ideas posted that are aimed AGAINST things. Outlawing the bad
things isn't enough. In both categories, soil organic matter (half or more
carbon by weight) is a unifying theme, and a positive goal that is
measurable, and that practical policy can be built upon.

Find out more about the soil carbon opportunity with this article:

"Turning air into dirt:

Using atmospheric carbon and solar energy to build the water-holding soils
that can feed the world"

A pdf version is downloadable at the bottom of the page. A Youtube version
will be out shortly.

THE SOIL CARBON CHALLENGE

Our major project, the Soil Carbon Challenge or World Carbon Cup, has the
beginnings of a design and the beginnings of a technical committee.

contact us or post questions in the Forum.

best wishes, and don't forget to vote on change.org (and encourage others to
do so) before the end of the year!

Peter Donovan
