there seems to be the idea that the economic and financial crisis will some
how make the rich and corporates less powerful... and the concentration will
be lessened
sadly, this is the opposite of the truth
see Accumulation through Dispossession and Noami Klein's Schock Docrtine for
plenty of examples... if anything the assault on the environment and people
will get worse... not better
Accumulation by dispossession is a concept presented by academic David
Harvey, which defines the neoliberal changes in many western nations, from
the 1970s and to the present day, as being guided mainly by four practices.
These are privatization, financialization, management and manipulation of
crises, and state redistributions.
