This is a bit afield from bioenergy, but some people are realizing we have
seriously overlooked a very promising-- and cheap-- technology. Geothermal.

It was long assumed that this source was only available in limited areas. But
in fact modern drilling technology puts hot rocks well within reach on a
relatively low budget. In fact, compared to a new coal-fired plant it's dirt
cheap. Just drill down to hot rocks, fracture them, add water and use the
steam.

The potential for this widely abundant energy source is in the
