the same of course goes for lending people your books, videos, cds, dvds, etc.
it is illegal in most respects and undermines the profits of the
creator (or more usually, the companies which promote, print,
distribute and retail your work.)

if people use, enjoy and appreciate your creation, they will pay you
for it if they are able.

many forward thinking creators of copywritable works believe it is
more important for their work to be benefitted from by as many people
as possible than an extra $ in the bank.

copy away, i say. but try not to waste a cd in the process, send it
electronically.

if the software suits your needs, you'll probably buy it. (if not,
you'll probably fond an open source equivalent which does the job)

Sean, all,

Although your offer of burning a copy of software for Keith is a
generous one it is not legal. Having been in the software business
for many years I worked very hard to make my living creating
software, I know first hand how hard it is to address software
copying.

Imagine if you created some great doodad and put your mark on it.
Then someone came along and took it from you and started making
copies. How might you feel.

I would like to encourage everyone to not make that extra copy of
software (and music) to share. When you purchase software and music
you are actually purchasing a revocable license to use the item.

Thanks for listening.
