Today I received a shipment of Christmas conifers that were packaged in
San Diego and shipped via diesel truck to Houston. Knowing a
permaculture value of buying and shopping local, it struck me that those
little specimens sure cost a lot from their inception to their eventual
demise (unless some are planted as living christmas trees and live).
They also cost the environment a lot too.
