"UKTV Style Gardens in association with the National Allotment
Gardens Trust is looking for Britain's Best Allotment Site.
In a new and independent competition designed to reward
environmentally and community friendly sites, UKTV is looking for nine
inspiring allotment sites to feature in a ten part series presented by
television gardener Chris Collins.
Eight of the featured sites will receive a prize to the value of £500.
The winning site will receive a prize of their choosing to the value of
£2000. Each programme will feature the best site from each of the
nine Regional Development Agency areas as selected by the National
Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners.
To enter this exciting new competition please send details and
at least ten photographs of your site to:

The National Allotment Gardens Trust,
PO Box 1448, Marston, Oxford, OX3 3AY.
Please include, on a maximum of two sides of A4, an explanation
of how your site addresses each of the five judging criteria
outlined below and details about how you would use the £2000
prize money to develop your site.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
PRODUCE - Quality, variety, seasonality, taste and use of indigenous/
heritage varieties.
GREENNESS - Evidence of recycling and organic husbandry.
WILDLIFE - Pro-active initiatives to encourage and protect local
wildlife.
COMMUNITY - Accessibility and promotion of the site within the local
community, including diversity of access.
BEAUTY - Aesthetics of individual plots and the site as a whole.
The deadline for entries is Friday 1st December 2006"
