Hi Laurence,

When working in forestry some years ago, we used to use a slurry made up from powdered eggs to protect young trees from browsing by possums and rabbits. The slurry dries onto the stems of the plants and gives off a smell of sulphur - which apparently deters browsers. This material remains active for some months, tolerating light/moderate rain.

Cheers, Paul Osmond

Does anyone know whether or not painting the trunks of young plants with Lime does anything to protect establishing plants from browsers (like rabbits)
