anyone have some suggestions for sources for species useful in temperate wet and seasonally saturated soils?

i'm working in and around the edges of a wetland in dutchess co NY. we have a CSA going in on the property, which is on just three or four dry acres, the rest of the property (30+acres) being wetland of various saturation. lot's of loosestrife, etc.

some useful shrubs, maybe some root crops? that could stand the wet areas along the edges

we are having a biological survey done for any species of concern here, but this land is basically covered with opportunistic stuff that has come in over the last 30 years, before that (and the beavers) the land was cow pasture

thanks!

also, are these list archives searchable? maybe i haven't found the right interface page yet?
