It is an unqualified statement to say that 5 acres of burnt grass releases 1
ton of particulate into the atmosphere without flyash controls. Unqualified
because 5 acres can produce anywhere from zero tons of grass to upwards of
100 tons of grass. It would have been more scientific to state that X tons
of a specific species of grass produces X tons of particulate matter when
burned without flyash controls. Further, gasification of the pelletized
grass would produce much less particulates, likely eliminating the need for
flyash controls.

When grass (cellulose) burns it releases toxins, many of them known
carcinogens:
.

The particulate matter released to the atmosphere in a stove/furnace without
flyash controls equates to 1 ton for every 5 acres of grass.

Grass makes a much better fuel for a cow than for a stove. A cow may release
a little methane in the process, but that has been going on for eons.

At the Homeless Garden Project our job is to help people learn to
solve their own problems and to achieve the life, career, and
educational goals they set for themselves.

Homelessness and lack of job skills and work experience often go hand-
in-hand. The Homeless Garden Project is a job-training and
transitional employment program which enables individuals to make the
life changes and acquire the skills necessary to move in productive
directions and lift themselves out of their homeless or marginalized
situation.
