- Subject: [permaculture] Wichita Kansas Food Cooperative
- Date: Tue, 10 May 2005 08:30:19 -0500
Some folks in Wichita, Kansas have come together
to start a local foods cooperative similar to the
Oklahoma Food Cooperative that is focused on south
central Kansas with Wichita as its base. They
plan to start monthly orders in June or July.
If anybody on this list is from Kansas, please get
in contact with them, and let's all tell our
friends and family that may be in Kansas about
this great event.
Their website is http://www.wichitafood.coop .
It's just a basic index page with contact info
right now, they are working on their full website.
The Wichita cooperative, like the Oklahoma Food
Cooperative, is open to both producers and
customers, and the membership share price is $50.
Woo Hoo for Kansas.
(Permaculture relevance: creating local food
systems is an important part of permaculture. for
people in cities, local food cooperatives can be a
way to access Zone 3 even if they don't have any
land.)
