while living in san francisco a few years ago, i discovered pill bugs or sow
bugs in my garden that were a beautiful lavendar color (how apropo for sf!).
i have never been able to find any info about what kind they were. it
appeared to be an anomaly - cuz most were the typical gray/brown, but the
lavendar ones sure did stand out!
