KERRMACULTURE ANNOUNCEMENTWhat and Where: A 72 hour Permaculture Design Course to be held at the Quiet Valley Ranch, the grounds of the Kerrville Folk Festival (KFF) in Kerrville, Texas in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.Who : The organizers of the course, Ted Norris, Kirby Fry, Tom Smith and Michael Ovsen, have asked whom they believe to be the premier expert on Drylands Permaculture on the planet, Scott Pittman - long associated with Drylands Permaculture in the SW United States and with Bill Mollison's world travels, consultations, and teachings - to be the primary teacher in the first coursein the Kerrmaculture Series. He will be joined by Pliny Fisk III and George Swanson, two world reknown Green Builder designers, innovators and teachers, and by several other well-known Permaculture designers, instructors and consultants.When : October 24th - November 6th / A Great Halloween Psychedelic Music-fest on October 31st EveningWhat Else : The course is intended, with the approval of the two boards which run these large and historic festivals, to develop a Masterplan for the area, including edible landscapes, green building, and water catchment. It has as its ambition the intention to elevate the presence and availability of Permaculture and to develop an ongoing model and resource center of sustainability, replete with a core group of certified Permaculturists who can oversee the significant numbers of volunteer workers (Kerrverts) who are eager to work on continuous as well as periodic projects to implement the Masterplan and to learn more principles of sustainable design and thought.- The course offers a superior Permaculture Faculty and in its inital course, attempts to be the most affordable certification course available.- Musicians are especially welcome.- Housing for bedrolls or cots is included in the costs, as well as meals which will include vegetarian options. Hotel arrangements can be especially arranged in Kerrville 9 miles away. Kerrville is on the Guadalupe River.Cost : $900, $800 by October 1st.
