There was something about this on Free Speech Radio a few days back. They talked with someone from the radio station, just about how they received an eviction notice from the University. There was no talk about why they were being shutdown (at least not that I heard.) There is a Free Speech Radio web site fsrn.something
Here's some more feedback about this:

the following from the current issue of the san jose weekly, tico times,
offers the "official" answer but nothing about what is probably really going
on behind the sceene....
http://www.tipsto.com/world-newspapers/costarica.htm.
there's an adde for the reporter in the article that you might try to
contact. maybe she knows a lot more than the paper would print.
the article however is in alignment with what debra latham, past rfpi
director, wrote in oct of 2002...
http://www.boinklabs.com/pipermail/rfpi-announce/2002/000170.html. again,
this sounds to me like the "technicality" that is being used but doesn't
really explain the university's (strong's) reasons for kicking them out why
don't you ask her @... debra_latham@yahoo.com . latham's husband, jim, is
the rfpi ceo mentioned in the tico article.
that, and/or maybe check with rfpi's attorney, arcelio hernandez...
http://www.forovial.com/indexingl.html (if you speak spanish there were a
ton of hits from google on him. some of it might have to do with the
issue).
good luck,
tom

They are on shortwave at 7445 AM (40M) and 15040 AM (20M) loud and clear as I
type;
just liatened to some really fine Native American chanting and drumming, very
inspirational,
now a singer who sounds like Buffy St. Marie is on. Good sounds!
They need donations. Maybe we can help keep them on the air.

Same here, typical high-roller scambag manipulator, a worthy companion for
Dennis Avery,
and a commie yet.
