Deley Gaiden, You've
had a busy time on this list lately - thanks for the reply - I haven't heard of
the oziexplorer - but then again I have been looking either. I'll check it out
this morning. I do need a cheap alternative to Mapinfo for my clients as
opposed to doing what is obviously illegal. Mapinfo is expensive yes - I think
about $AUD2500 (AUD = $US0.65 approx). I hardly any of its main functions -
only the cartography and basic analysis. AutoCAD is very expensive - about
$AUD7000 - so is out of reach from most. World Construction Set and Terragen
are made by the same company I think - as you said - perhaps more time wasted
than on computer games themselves - but jeez what about the effects. As
for Pitcairn and the use of this stuff - well of course its possible - but
would, I believe, be only a grand exercise in design in the absence of the
islander's involvement. What a job though. Dam here Dam there.....On that not
we are about to launch a remote broadacre design service which follows our
tried and true “Work’s Pattern” but involves clients more in
the data collation part of the process without this permaculture designer’s
site visit. Cheers, Yours and Growing, Darren J. Doherty Applied Diploma of
