If permaculture training might be expensive, is expensive for some body,
applying what you learn is definitly opening for a much less expensive
lifestyle, and most people will be fast paid back their little investment
in training.
Living ignoring permaculture and generally sustainability is usually very
expensive.
This is at least true in expensive industrial and/or cold countries like
Norway where I live.

Travel costs are artificially low in the world today-
One major reason to the environmental problems
IMHO, sustainability and Permaculture it self would invite to move the
PC-teachers rather than the students
Otherwise April's solution to pay by work is nice for those who have time
(students can usually use more time to travel cheap- the travel cost being
a less important issue)

Some special courses in Norway are buildt up so that a real project is done
by the students for some body, making the course cheaper since someone gets
a "product" out of it. Many Strawballs buidings have been set up that way.
