Introduction to Permaculture Course to be held in Southeastern Ohio.
Permaculture, n. (contraction, permanent and agriculture or culture)
1. An ecologically sound method of small scale agriculture.
2. A sustainable system which harmoniously blends people in community with
the natural world.
The course will be held 7 PM Friday, April 23 through noon Sunday, April 25,
1999 at 'Niches', a deep ecology retreat in Vinton County, Southeastern Ohio.
Instructors are Mark Cohen, Permaculture Designer, Organic Farmer,
apiculturalist, mycologist, philosopher, business consultant, co-founder of
Far
Valley Farm, a twenty year old intentional community, and Executive Director
of
the Belize Agroforestry Research Center, and Lou DeWein, Phd. Deep Ecologist,
Professor, and Founder of 'Niches'.
Tuition is $200 per person which includes lodging, healthful vegetarian meals,
and a personal copy of the book, Introduction to Permaculture by Bill Mollison
and Reny Mia Slay. Enrollment is limited to twelve students. Tuition
assistance is available.
