Pressure treated wood is bad stuff. The issue isn't just what it does in the
garden, but also what it does where people make it, what it gives off as it is
transported and distributed, and what it does when it finally dies. The
companies say not to burn it--toxic air-- yet there aren't any waste disposal
programs for this anywhere.

The health and environmental problems (and those of most other chemical
pesticides) are at Northwest Coalition for Alternativres to Pesticides (NCAP)
at <A HREF="http://www.efn.org/~ncap/factsheets.html";>
http://www.efn.org/~ncap/factsheets.html</A>. I bought a very nice set of fact
sheets which included chromated cupric arsenate (CCA) for about $12.95. The
typical pesticide has about 120 references from scientific journals about the
dangers of using it.
