Dear Friends, Thanks for sending your message on "promoting CSAs" to my wife,
Elizabeth, and me at Caretaker Farm. We've been an organic/biodynamic farm for
over 25 years (now one of the oldest in the Northeast) and a CSA (175
Households are members) for eight years.

Let's stay in touch. Most immediate concern is the outcome of the current
proposal for U.S. Govt. certification of organic producers. A proposal that,
if inacted as presently outlined, would destroy small farms and the integrity
of the organic movement. Indeed, the word "organic" would become so corrupted
that it would not only become meaningless but also give cover to totalitarian
agriculture (agribusiness). And these sentiments do not even go to the heart
of my opposition to elements within the proposed national organic standards.

With appreciation for your E-Mail. Samuel & Elizabeth Smith, Caretaker Farm,
Hancock Rd, Williamstown MA 01267. E-mail: ssmith3109@aol.com.
