Aloha all,
At last...the initial release of PIW Issue Tracker!!! :-)
Go here:
https://www.arashi.com/roundup/piw/index
The server uses a privately signed security certificate, so you will most likely get some kind of alert or message about the security certificate.
Choose the option to "accept permanently," or whatever the equivalent is in the dialog you get from your browser.
NOTE: Internet Explorer on Mac does not support private certificates, so if that's what you have, you won't be able to access the tracker.
All other major Mac browsers work - take your pick from Mozilla, Firefox, Safari, Netscape...heck, grab 'em all and be the Mac platform browser compatibility tester!
There is currently one sample issue that I just put in.
You can poke around a tiny bit as an anonymous user - try List All and Search, for example. This will get boring pretty quickly.
Then you can register yourself as a user, which appears self-explanatory.
Once you've done that, you can Create New (issues, that is - woo hoo! ;-).
Try putting your tasks from the task list in, and assign them to yourself, for example (select Type 'task', of course).
You can ignore the Administration links for now, since you can't do much there except look at stuff that likely won't make much sense to you.
If you are an even slightly clever tester, you may also access, accidentally or on purpose, 'retired' issues that I made up while doing/testing the customization.
I have added "issue tracker" as a selection in the component field, so we can use this to enter issues on issue tracker itself.
In other words, when entering bugs and suggestions for the issue tracker, select component 'issue tracker'!
I still have a few things on my list, and I want to start a list of suggestions/requests.
For example:
The fields displayed in search results/issue listings are customizable - I've already changed from the default Roundup template, so think about what the most useful ones would be (from all those available in an issue) and in what order.
That's all I'll say for now - I reckon I'll get better feedback on what needs to be in a FAQ and other tracker user documentation that way.
You really can't mess anything up afaik - 'junk' or 'learning' issues I can 'retire' if/when they start to clutter things up.
So play with it some and let's see what else needs to be done.
BTW registered users can edit each other's issues at present - it's wide open - and changes are tracked in the history, so don't think that you can tweak someone's issues without everyone knowing it was you!! ;-)
cheers,
John S.
