howdy plantdbers,
I did my 'homework' this weekend, and have lots to discuss...but didn't have
time yesterday. Just wanted to let you all know that I will be writing a
detailed brainstorm message soon.
Look forward to more cross-pollination....
peace

Folks,
I've been looking around for DTD and other info about structuring
information about plants.
The ITIS seems to have a good spec for Scientific names, Author
info and even has a stab at Common names and distribution info.

The Dublin Core
http://dublincore.org/documents/dces/
has good data for describing publications.
Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names Online
http://www.getty.edu/research/conducting_research/vocabularies/tgn/index.html
has all the names of places you could ever need.
